Snowman in Troy

My go-to local homemade ice cream parlor with friends. Typically long lines on summer evenings, open March through mid-October. Very inexpensive ice cream with a good variety of flavors. Recommend not limited to chocolate chip cookie dough, vienna mocha chip, black raspberry and cheesecake. Always happy to be here 😊

A photo of my three scoop Sunday. Huge and delicious. 2 scoops of chocolate chip cookie dough, 1 scoop of strawberry, marshmallow topping, chocolate syrup, strawberry topping, whip cream, rainbow sprinkles, and a cherry!! I highly recommend it!!

Once you taste Snowman soft serve you really can’t vibe with any other soft serve. The taste is immaculate. Soft serve ice cream that’s easy on stomach issues; being that it’s homemade. We return regularly.

This was a peanutbutter/ s'mores twist Only 8 icecream. Delicious!

I love Snowman! This place makes their own ice cream and it is so good! I love the banana, cannot what to try more. The portions are HUGE and even with lines the turn around time is unbelievably fast.

This is one of the best ice cream place in the troy area! Their soft serve is so good that i wanna get a whole pint of it and eat it by myself because its so good! The employees there are also very, very nice. A family friendly ice cream place where everyone can enjoy their time with their families!!!!

It was the first day that Snowman was open for the season..They were mobbed as everyone in troy lined up to get THEIR first taste of this year's summer tradition.As every year this was a good day!

One of the best ice cream stores. It is literally a shack with the most delicious ice cream. Family owned and the ice cream is made on the premises. Plenty of flavors to choose from. They sell by the pint as well. Be prepared to wait on line outside. They have open windows where you make your purchase from. There is no indoor sitting area. Just the cutest place. I fully recommend this place.

The lines of people, waiting to get their share of frozen goodness, in front of snowman speaks for itself.Really really good quality icecream. There's a tiny shed with some seats if you want to eat right there. We first discovered this a month back and have been going back every week at least once!

Totally awesome place to pick up an ice cream. Very friendly, very fast, a serious about covid distancing (marking on the side walk go for quite a long way!). Plenty of good flavors. Love it!

Great soft serve ice cream. Comparable to Bumpy's in Schenectady. The soft serve has less air than other places so it seems creamier. Tried the homemade ice cream and that was also very good. If you are in Troy it is worth the side track.

Good ice cream selection. The regular size is really big and wasn’t expecting that much. Nevertheless the soft serve I had was very tasty

The ice cream was pretty basic. The soft serve wasn't as sweet as I have eaten at other places. The sizes are worth the price, but since the flavor wasn't what I thought it to be I was a little disappointed. We ordered a small vanilla shake, small strawberry sundae, waffle cone with chocolate chip cookie dough, small smores sundae, and a small banana split. $20.25

Best ice cream in the Capital District, if you ask me. Always friendly service, and the line move quickly even if it looks long.

Awesome as usual. My family of four were all very happy. Creamsicle, Watermelon Sherbet, Chocolate Cherry Amaretton and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough! They are taking phone orders only. You are told a pick up time. It was easy and ready to go. Please support them during the Quarantine!

Line was long but service was quick and I usually get hard homemade ice cream but today I tried the strawberry cheesecake soft and I actually enjoyed it. It had great body and flavor. I usually don't enjoy soft serve so a very nice surprise.

Absolutely great! The line was quick, the people were super nice, and the ice cream was inexpensive, giant, and delicious! I even asked for a lot of sprinkles (figuring they would just do double a normal amount) and they filled it to the brim! 10/10 I am looking forward to returning here with friends all throughout the summer

Great homemade ice cream. Incredibly creamy and delicious. So many hard flavors available. A handful of soft serve as well. Simply the best!Seating area can be crowded but the use their space to the best of their ability.

I go here for the cider belly sundaes lol I love cider belly and once I found out this place made sundaes with them I was sold 😍😍 it's cool that you can choose any ice cream you want with the sundae. I only get it made with the soft serve vanilla though so my review is solely based on the sundae. I did sample the pumpkin pie ice cream they had and it tasted pretty legit.

Always have a great experience when I go to Snowman's. Today's visit was just as great. Hot Fudge Sundae with Coffee Ice Cream, whipped cream and nuts was fantastic. My 92 yr. old mother and sister loved their Hot Fudge Sundaes too.

John has done a wonderful job of carrying on a great tradition. 66 years and going strong, they know how to make customers happy. Priced rate, and wonderful selection of flavors. Always serve you more than you can eat, which is the side to err on! Try their ice cream pies. Grasshopper or pb cup are our picks.. Great replacement for cake! Boston shakes are beloved as well. Can't decide between a sundae or a milkshake? Get both in one!Well deserving of the accolades and the opening day lines - even in thirty degree weather in March!Thank you John!

Since childhood, snowman has been a great place to visit for yummy ice cream.

Tried it for the first time today. There's always a line but totally worth the wait. Wait time is no more than 5mins.

The best ice cream in the area! Worth the long lines and wait times. The owners are the nicest people, and are super accommodating especially given the circumstances with the global pandemic. Highly recommend!

It's ice cream! I had chocolate soft ice cream and it was good.

I have been here several times over the years and I love it ! They make excellent ice cream so many options and decent prices. The down side is the parking is pretty awkward. Since the tear down of the building next door they created more spots but you do have to walk across a fairly busy street if you choose street parking. Also they only have two windows and with their gained popularity another window would make the wait less. But all around excellent choice ! The coffee oreo is my all time favorite!!!

Classic American ice cream joint! They are able to adapt to covid, which means the management and staff are intelligent. Staff is great. 5his is really a 4.5, kinda kinda sketchy location and not a lot of parking.
